Salary
£35K to £45K depending on experience.

1) About the role
- To undertake fee earning duties working independently, with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- To maintain the firm’s client relationships and develop new ones to increase your caseload.
- Managing Private Client Matters with a focus on:
- Preparation of Wills and Trusts.
- Drafting Trust Deeds.
- Administration of Estates.
- Advising on tax matters with an emphasis on inheritance tax mitigation.
- Advising elderly clients, drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship Applications.
- Estate planning with a focus on asset protection and ring-fencing of assets to protect from future care fees expenditure.
- Must be willing to work with other fee earners on joint projects.
- Must be willing to participate in the future development and growth of the firm including joining BNI, ActionClub and drafting monthly articles for SEO.
2) Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be:
- Either STEP qualified or undertaking STEP training with emphasis placed on Will Preparation and Administration of estates.
- ‘Hands on’ Private Client Experience with high net-worth clients.
- Excellent client care skills.
- Ability to nurture existing clients.
- Ability to develop new clients and participate in networking events such as BNI.
- Ability to prioritise and work to strict timescales.
- Technical proficiency and good IT skills.
- A strong academic background.
3) Our expectations
- To assist in formulating processes, systems and procedures for drafting Wills, drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney and administering estates.
- To formulate policies together with the team and to assist the other fee earners in achieving a smooth throughput of work.
- To support the successful development of the firm in line with its overall objectives including client care.
- Participate in marketing activities and actively seek cross-referral opportunities to market the firm’s services.
- To use the firm’s IT and Case Management Systems.
- To achieve agreed financial targets and recording of chargeable hours.
- To ensure the confidentiality and security of the client’s and the firm’s information and documentation.
- To maintain high standards in the processing of client work, with respect to professional standards and client care.
- To maintain good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
- To adhere to agreed Practice procedure as determined from time to time especially with regard to quality standards.
- To uphold our core values of integrity, reliability and accountability. The ideal candidate will also display a positive outlook, a sense of humour and a love of continuous learning.
